The city of Quetzaltenango is the second largest city in Guatemala, and is a central hub for the country. Villagers come from every direction for food, for work, for opportunity, and sometimes to abandon their children. Escuela de la Calle is an organization that has combined the volunteer work of foreigners to lead treks through along former rebel mountain trails to raise funds for a school for street kids as well as an orphanage.
